Homework Assignment Sheet Unit 3

What you need to know:
1. I can identify parts of the brainstem and functions of each.
2. I can understand the function of the thalamus.
3. I can understand the function of the cerebellum.
4. I can identify the parts of the limbic system and the functions of each.
5. I can identify and delineate the major regions of the cerebral cortex.
6. I can identify and delineate the two  specialized language areas of the left hemisphere, and describe the right hemisphere's special function.
7. I can understand the concept of brain plasticity.

Circle: Your favorite TV show character.  What do you like about them?


Due Friday October 12th Homework: Using the same format as the class activity above, watch the the NOVA program and do a brief write up (no more than a page) about the implications from the show.  (Think in terms of your own life, society, education, crime, etc.)  Please use specific examples from the documentary to support your implications.PBS NOVA Memory Hackers

Go over assignment sheet.  No 3C.  Go over study tips.  Log in, go onto page and find one mneumonic device that works for you.  Be ready to report our at you table.

Activity: Hand out brain graphic organizer and Greek and Latin toots page.  At you table you will divide up the words and complete the first four words.  Next identify where the structures are located on the graphic organizer.  You should complete this on your own.
