Circle Question:
How much of your day do you spend thinking about other things as opposed to what you are doing right now?

Mind Body Connection:

Jon Kabot Zinn and Mindfulness

Relaxation Technique

Mindfulness Exercise

Homework:
Write a reaction to the mindfulness exercise.  I ask that you do it tonight and reflect upon your day and how it was after doing the mindfulness exercise.

Questions to consider:
How did you feel during the mindfulness exercise?
What do you remember from it?  Sounds, images, feelings, etc.
Did you "lose track of yourself"?  What was that like?
Did you fall asleep?
Did you have difficulty emptying your mind?
Was it full of thoughts the whole time?
Did the thoughts make sense or just totally random?
Do you know why you were stuck thinking about particular things?
What did you feel like when the activity was over?
What did you notice after the class?  Example, did things look different or feel different?
What was your next class like?  Was it different from previous classes?  Were you more focused or more distracted?
What did you notice about the hallways, the cafeteria, talking with friends?
Did you check your phone more or less for the remainder of the day?  Why?
How did you feel overall after the activity?  Calm, irritated, focused, tired, wide awake, etc?
This question should be answered tomorrow:  How did you sleep last night?  Was their anything different about your sleep; dreams, tiredness, bedtime, awaking, etc?
Other thoughts?
